Culture of Excellence Position Statement

On March 23, 2021, Dr. Kyle Paquette and Archery Canada Head Coach Shawn Riggs presented to the high performance sport community a webinar on culture of excellence. Focusing on the application of ‘culture of excellence’ research in a performance environment, the webinar addressed some best practices as well as identified new and emerging tools that will support NSOs to identify cultural issues and the perception of athletes, coaches and staff towards performance structures supporting excellence. The importance of understanding ‘culture’ in high performance sport has led to a Canadian Position Statement on Culture of Excellence in High Performance Sport.
