PhD with a focus on Applied Sport Science

The Centre for Human Performance and Health (CHPH) and the Faculty of Human Kinetics at the University of Windsor are seeking three highly motivated student sport scientists. These students will be expected to fully engage with varsity programs within the Division of Athletics and Recreational Services to conduct applied sport science research and provide strength & conditioning services. These funded Ph.D. positions within the department of Kinesiology will conduct applied research within the daily training environment of our Windsor Lancer varsity programs. Specific research areas will be aligned with the needs and objectives of the varsity programs and CHPH and will be developed in collaboration with varsity coaching staff, CHPH staff, the student, and graduate supervisor(s). These positions were developed to provide outstanding students the opportunity to conduct applied research and to support the physical and mental health and success of student athletes competing in Canadian university sport. In addition to sport science research, students will receive academic and sport mentorship and they will be provided with sport science leadership opportunities working in the daily training environment of varsity programs.
