Programs
This leadership role will be responsible for Sport Scientist Canada’s new program titled “IST Academy”. The program will be delivered virtually on an annual basis beginning 2026-27.
The role will be responsible for 2 phases over the first 2 years.
- Year 1 (2025-26): Content development and instructor appointment
- 6 months (~3 days/month, 20 days total)
- Year 2 (2026-27): Complete oversight of program delivery in the inaugural year
- 12 months (~1 day/month, 14 days total)
Purpose of the role:
To build on the program framework proposal to create and provide managerial oversight of a new program called IST Academy.
This role is designed to be a career-building experience. We expect significant learning and skill progression of the person holding this role. Contributing to the development of practitioners at all levels should be a central driver for the successful candidate.

LEAD is a leadership-training program for experienced sport scientists currently working within the Canadian high performance sports system. The LEAD program recognizes the importance of collaboration and a unified multi-disciplinary approach in creating a sustainable better than world-class high performance environment.

The Women in Sport Science (WiSS) Mentorship Program has been designed to provide women sport scientists, particularly in disciplines where there is currently a lack of gender equity, the opportunity to engage with mentors in order to advance their career development and gain industry knowledge that will contribute to the high-performance sport environment.
