Dr. Suzanne Leclerc is a sport and exercise medicine physician with over 25 years of experience supporting elite and high-performance athletes. She holds a Ph.D. in Experimental Science from McGill University, where her research focused on the assessment of concussions in athletes. Dr. Leclerc has led and contributed to numerous peer-reviewed studies and international collaborations on athlete health, including concussion, injury prevention, and multidisciplinary care.
She served as Medical Director at the Institut National du Sport du Québec from 2011 to 2025 and was Chief Medical Officer for Team Canada at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games. She has supported Canadian athletes at six Olympic Games and several Pan American Games, including Santiago 2023. She currently chairs the Female Athlete Health Task Force of the Canadian Olympic Committee and is a founding member of ReFORM, an IOC-recognized international research centre dedicated to injury prevention.
In recognition of her contributions to evidence-based sport medicine and athlete health, Dr. Leclerc received the Lifetime Achievement Award from Sport Scientist Canada in 2025.
