Susan is a sport performance physiotherapist who empowers athletes to optimize their mind body connection to realize their potential while preventing injury. She is a Registered  International Sport Physiotherapist, an Olympic athlete (1998 Nagano Winter Olympics) and has been privileged to support many athletes at multiple Olympic Games and international and World Championships. Susan knows the importance of quality communication, teamwork and continuous learning and is a preferred provider with the Canadian Sport Institute Alberta (CSI Alberta).

Fun Facts:

Susan has worked with 45 different sports in 18 different countries and has collaborated with ISTs to support  5 Olympic Gold medalists, at summer and winter Olympic Games (1996 Atlanta, 2000 Sydney with the Swim Canada; 2006 Italy Snowboard; 2008 Beijing Gymnastics; 2021 Tokyo Whitewater Kayak), Youth Olympics, Youth Commonwealth Games, Universiades, Pan Ams, X Games and been to multiple training camps, World Cups, National and World Championships.

Her dedication to excellence extends beyond her professional achievements, as she is acknowledged for providing valuable mentorship to emerging clinicians and mentoring for women in sport science (WIIS).

Susan facilitates Pilates and Performance Conditioning sessions to influence the mind body connection and awareness of breath , to minimize  stress and  decrease threat perceived by our nervous system.

Susan treats people in Canmore and Calgary. She is an instructor with UBC Gunn Intramuscular Stimulation (www.ubcgunnims.com) program.

Susan has a Bachelor of Science in Physiotherapy and a Bachelor of Physical Education from the University of Alberta, a Master of Manipulative Physiotherapy from the University of Queensland, Australia.

Susan obtained her Diploma of Manual and Manipulative Therapy from the Canadian Physiotherapy Orthopaedic Division (FCAMPT), a Diploma in Sports Physiotherapy from Sports Physiotherapy Canada, a Certificate of Medical Acupuncture from the University of Alberta, she is a Registered International Sport Physiotherapist, a Clinical Specialist Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy, a Senior Sport Scientist, and a Classical Pilates instructor.
