Paul Murata is a highly experienced high-performance specialist with over two decades of work supporting elite athletes across multiple sports, including NCAA, professional, and Paralympic levels. A dual-certified Athletic Therapist (CAT(C)) in Canada and Athletic Trainer (ATC) in the United States, Paul brings a comprehensive approach to athlete health, injury management, and performance optimization.

His career includes contributions to 14 NCAA postseason tournament teams, highlighted by a Final Four appearance in NCAA Women’s Basketball, and numerous conference and national championships with other sports. Since 2016, he has been a key member of the Canadian Senior Women’s National Wheelchair Basketball team’s health and performance team, helping guide the program through multiple World Championships, Para PanAm Games, and Paralympic Games.

In addition to his fieldwork, Paul has over 15 years of post-secondary teaching experience, mentoring students in kinesiology, athletic training, and applied sport science. His collaborative approach and commitment to best practice have been shaped through work alongside top-tier coaches, physicians, and allied health professionals.

Paul continues to provide consulting and hands-on support within high-performance environments, combining deep clinical expertise with an understanding of the physical and cultural demands of elite sport.
