Nadine Smith is the Assistant Manager and Head Athletic Therapist at Carleton University, where she has led the Athletic Therapy Centre and supported varsity and club athletes since 1999. A Certified Athletic Therapist with deep clinical expertise, she specializes in injury rehabilitation, return‑to‑play planning, on‑field emergency care, and high‑performance athlete support. Nadine has provided medical leadership and hands‑on therapy across countless varsity seasons, national championships, and international tournaments.

A significant focus of Nadine’s career has been her extensive work in para‑sport. She has represented Canada at major events including the Paralympic Games (Tokyo 2021 and Paris 2024), Para Pan Am Games, World Goalball Championships, and multiple international wheelchair and adaptive sport competitions. Her para‑sport experience spans both field-of-play care and comprehensive clinical support for athletes from a wide range of classifications and performance needs.

Nadine has also served as Chief Therapist for several World University Games, overseeing therapist selection, scheduling, medical logistics, and interdisciplinary team operations—ensuring consistent, high‑quality care for athletes across diverse sport environments, including para‑sport delegations.

Beyond her field and clinical work, Nadine contributes to national sport medicine and athletic therapy development as a member of the U Sports Medical Committee, Co‑Chair of the OUA Medical Committee, and long‑time Chair of the CATA High Performance Providers Committee. She holds a Master’s degree in Human Kinetics with a focus in Sport Psychology Consulting.
