Heather is a Clinical Psychologist with expertise in sport and performance psychology. Her most important job is being a mom of two teenagers, who also happen to be high-performance athletes.

As Mental Health Lead for Athletics Canada, Swimming Canada and Canadian Sport Institute Ontario, she created and leads the pathway for early intervention for athletes and coaches. She has developed and provided a wide variety of mental health education opportunities for high-performance athletes and coaches across Canada.

She is also the psychologist for the High-Performance Centre – Ontario (HPC-ON), where she works directly with the national swim team athletes, coaches, and staff to maintain a psychologically-informed training environment. She has been supporting world-class athletes and coaches on their journey up to and including the Olympics and Paralympics since 2008 and is a provider for Game Plan’s Sport-Informed Mental Health Network.

She is passionate about creating change in the way that mental health is addressed in Canadian sport.
